Introduction
In Post 74 we asked our Country Managers to nominate an official who has done the most to reduce emissions in their country’s government over the past year. We asked them to describe the climate accomplishments of this person and why they are so important to the reduction of emissions. In the case of countries that lacked a government leader, Country Managers were asked to nominate a leader from an environmental NGO in their country.
Each Country Manager then drafted a letter to the person and/or organization receiving the award. The letter tells why the award is being made, and suggests additional actions that the awardee can make to further reduce their country’s emissions.
Table A below lists the persons in each country that have been designated to receive Climate Scorecard’s 2024 Government Climate Leadership Awards. Copies of the individual country award letters follow.
