Turkey 2024 Climate Scorecard Award:

Deniz Ataç, President of TEMA

Dear Deniz Ataç,

We are pleased to present a 2024 Climate Scorecard Government Climate Leadership Award to TEMA. We are nominating you for this award because TEMA has reached more than 6 million children with nature training and works of awareness. Millions of children and hundreds of thousands of adults benefited from TEMA’s educational programs and became acquainted with ecological literacy.

Until now, TEMA has implemented 395 rural development, protection, and reforestation projects.

Today, in the 81 cities of Turkey, there is at least one forest formed by the TEMA Foundation donors. From 1992 to the present, TEMA has planted 39.500.00 young trees in an area as big as approximately 46.000 football fields. TEMA has also planted 700 million acorns in an area as big as 22 thousand football fields.

Today, a TEMA Foundation perception is known by almost the whole public, and that is identified with volunteering, trust, trees, nature, and combat for the protection of natural assets. In 2012, as the Foundation, TEMA was awarded the “Land for Life” award, which was granted for the first time in the World in the leadership of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and for which states were also nominated many Non-governmental Organizations.
