Climate Scorecard’s 2024 Government Climate Leadership Award is presented to a country official who has done the most to reduce emissions in their country’s government over the past year. Below is a copy of the letter sent to each nominee and why they were chosen to receive this award.

I am delighted to introduce you to Climate Scorecard, an esteemed non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for and reporting on efforts to reduce emissions in leading greenhouse gas-emitting countries and the EU. The agency has reintroduced the Sanwo-Olu Switch to Gas Project, which promotes cleaner alternatives to traditional cooking methods and aims to combat climate change by reducing associated emissions.

As the recipient of this award, we commend your exceptional leadership and urge you to continue your remarkable work in the coming year. We encourage you to consider the following actions to advance emission reduction efforts in Lagos State further:
