Dr. Malak Al-Nory: Saudi Researcher and Advocate for Women in Clean Energy
Dr. Malak Al-Nory serves as an advisor on sustainability and climate change within the Saudi Ministry of Energy. She is an expert in integrating clean energy and clean water, developing innovative solutions, and strategic planning. She is an established researcher with published research collaborations at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with a vision to support sustainability and address climate change in the energy sector. She is also an advocate for women in the clean energy sector. Her research interests include the development of optimization models and analytical tools for the strategic planning of clean water and clean energy, as well as the electricity supply chain.
Her efforts have been recognized internationally, including her appointment as a Mission Innovation Champion in 2020, where she represented Saudi Arabia in a global initiative to accelerate clean energy innovation. Dr. Al-Nory also serves as Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Ad-hoc Group on AR7 Elections of the Bureau and all Task Forces, highlighting her leadership in global climate policy discussions.
