She is an internationally recognized expert in Australian and Southern Hemisphere climate variability and change, having authored over 130 scientific publications. Her research focuses on providing a long-term historical context for assessing recently observed climate variability and extremes.
Between 2018 and 2021, Joëlle served as a lead author on the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Sixth Assessment Report – a global, state-of-the-art review of climate change science.
Alongside her research and writing activities, Joëlle is also a scientific advisor to various organisations. From 2018 to 2023, she was an expert Councillor with the Climate Council of Australia, an independent body providing expert advice to the public on climate change and policy. Since 2023, she has been a member of the advisory council for the Australia–New Zealand node of Veolia. This global company aims to set the business benchmark for ecological transformation. In 2024, Joëlle became a CLIMARTE Ambassador to help support the creative arts sector’s engagement with the topic of climate change.

Erwin is one of Australia’s leading climate policy analysts and advocates, with over 35 years of experience. He oversees the policy and advocacy priorities for IGCC and is a regular commentator in the national media on climate policy and risk.
Erwin was the Deputy CEO of The Climate Institute for nearly 10 years, during which he was seconded to the Climate Change Authority as an expert in international climate change diplomacy. Other roles include being a senior policy advisor to the Australian Conservation Foundation and Environment Victoria. Erwin is a director of Climate Analytics Australia, a member of ANU’s Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions External Advisory Committee, and an expert on a number of Government advisory panels.

Amanda is a prominent Australian environmental leader and one of the country’s best-known public commentators on the climate crisis.
Back in 2013, she worked with Professor Tim Flannery at the Climate Commission. With support from some of Australia’s leading scientists, she co-founded the 100% independent and people-backed Climate Council. It was Australia’s largest crowdfunding campaign at the time. Amanda has led the organisation as its CEO for the last 10 years.
She also co-founded the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and has served on expert panels for the Queensland and Northern Territory governments, focusing on renewable energy.
Amanda was the founding Chair of the Centre for Australian Progress and is a former Board Director at Plan International Australia and the Whitlam Institute. She holds an Honours degree in Law from Monash University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Melbourne.

Dr Simon Bradshaw is the Research Director (adaptation and resilience) with Climate-KIC Australia and the Institute for Sustainable Futures.
Simon has spent two decades working in climate change research, communication, and advocacy. Prior to joining UTS, he served as Research Director at the Climate Council of Australia.
His research interests include climate science, extreme weather, climate change adaptation and resilience, climate change and the Pacific, international climate negotiations, inequality, climate finance, loss and damage, climate justice, and human rights.
