Dr. Delmaria Richards is a researcher at the Global Zero Emissions Research Center of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan. A former Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) scholar at the University of Tsukuba, she has dedicated her career to advancing environmental science and sustainable development.
She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies, specializing in renewable energy analysis, carbon dioxide reduction, sustainability science, technology, and policy. Her expertise is further strengthened by certifications in Integrated Resource Waste Management, Environmental Policy and Planning, and Nature and Heritage Conservation. Additionally, she pursued Global Energy and Climate Policy at the University of London, broadening her understanding of international climate strategies.
Dr. Richards has extensive global experience in renewable energy and environmental sciences, contributing to projects focused on disaster resilience, energy assessment, environmental pollution remediation, climate systems analysis, and nature and heritage conservation in Japan, Jamaica, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Fiji among other countries in collaboration with the University of Tsukuba. Beyond research, she is deeply committed to voluntary initiatives and academic committees, where she actively works to bridge science and policy for a more sustainable future.
