Juwonlo Michael is an experienced Operations Lead at Green Growth Africa Sustainability Network. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in History/International Relations from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria. Juwonlo has extensive experience leading programs related to E-STEM, Environmental Education, and Education for Sustainable Development.
Through her leadership, Juwonlo has impacted over 5000 youth and children in 8 countries, within and outside Africa. She has empowered and educated over 3,500 students in 16 high schools in six African countries to develop innovative solutions that address environmental challenges while meeting social and economic needs. These students have developed innovative solutions such as producing menstruation pads from sugar cane waste, smokeless charcoal from rice husk, and interlocking blocks for floor tiles from waste plastics, and many others. The students have been recognized with awards by the governments of Ghana and Cameroon for their project.
Juwonlo possesses excellent program management, operations, stakeholder engagement, grant proposal writing, and strategy skills, which she has demonstrated throughout her professional career. She is a visionary leader with a passion for sustainability, environmental conservation, and education. Juwonlo is committed to making a positive impact on the world and achieving a sustainable future for all.
